I am a grandmother and raised 3 children of my own. I've baby sat many children over the years and have always enjoyed watching their little personalities develop. I was also a licensed nurse for many years and worked in pediatric units. Setting a good example and being a part of that development is important to me. I love the outdoors and not a big fan of sitting a child down for long periods in front of a TV or a laptop. I'm also a great cook and work well with developing good dietary habits. I'm a non smoker and non drinker other than an occasional glass of wine with dinner.

We hired Barbara to look after our 9 month old for a recurring job and have been working with her for several weeks now. She has been great. Shows up early, does whatever is needed to get the baby to sleep (a little bit of a challenge recently...) and she clearly has a lot of experience with babies. She picks right up on new developments, things that the baby maybe isn't ready for and lets us know, and brings new ideas on how to stimulate the baby with music, practice walking, etc. She is also very safety conscious, which is important to us with such a young and curious baby.
