Hi! My name is Erica and I’m 26 years old living in Pompano Beach/Lauderdale-by-the-Sea area! Education: I graduated from high school in 2014 before going to college for a couple years majoring in health Sciences and Psychology. I decided to continue my education in Beauty School at a school in Boca Raton where I soon became a medical aesthetician and a laser hair removal/laser skin rejuvenation technician. Experience: Since I was about 12 years old I have loved taking care of children of all ages- even those with severe special needs like non-verbal autism and cerebral palsy, to name a couple. I was once a nanny for a family who had twin girls, both with autism, for about 8 years! Absolutely loved it. Those girls are who made me fall in love with kids with special needs and just kids in general. I then became a “family support specialist” after Read more high school where I worked for a great company who hired people like me to help families with children who had special needs of all kinds! I shadowed them in schools and summer camps and tracked their behaviors, used problem solving skills and positive reinforcement to correct poor or disruptive behavior, guided them in interacting with their peers the correct way, with various therapies, with changing clothes, going to the bathroom, with their medication intake, and everything in between. I loved being a mentor and emotional support for them above all else. I did that for about 4 years. For a couple years after, I was a nanny for a boy with cerebral palsy and his older (but young in age) sister. I also have had other various jobs in other fields that I can elaborate on if you’d like! About me: I’m a sweet and genuine and very caring person overall in my opinion! I’m very silly and kind and I get along with pretty much everyone, most of the time lol but my approach to nannying/babysitting is to be their friend and be there for them at all times. I want the kids I take care of to have fun and enjoy themselves with me and most importantly feel completely comfortable around me! I will obviously discipline in the correct way when needed but I find that when I’m able to connect with the kids they don’t end up acting out as much anyway! I’m looking for something part time or full time, but no more than about 30 hours a week (give it take). Something consistent with a great family who I’ll love to be there for! I have my own car- it’s a 2018 Mazda and I have a clean driving record:)
