For many years I have developed a passion for taking care of children. Whether I am helping with homework, cooking dinner, or researching a fun craft to create- I always end my days feeling rewarded. However, being a caretaker can be challenging and tiring. During my time as a babysitter and preschool teacher, I have learned many lessons: staying calm, staying in control, and staying positive. In addition to the knowledge I’ve gained through experience, I believe the education I received from the Florida State University makes me a highly qualified candidate for this particular position. My major in Sociology has molded me into an individual who is always eager to learn and engage with others, while my minor in Child Development has made me a better educated and excited caregiver. I am quite confident in my skills as a nanny. I recently have more experience with toddlers, but I Read more have worked with children as old as twelve years old. I am up-to-date on my CPR certifications as well as my Department of Children and Families credentialed license to teach a preschool class (State of Florida). I really enjoy being an “active” caretaker: lots of time outdoors with fresh air, running errands with/for the kids and family, cooking and light housekeeping, etc. I take dictation from parents well and can follow a strict schedule and routine, however I also enjoy a little freedom to plan activities and ideas for the children. I’ve learned that the younger the kids, the more difficult this can be, but it can be done. Finally, even more than my experience with kids, I have worked in the customer service industry for quite some time. I have had server, bartender, and part-time manager positions, thus working through many rigorous conditions. Overall, I feel this experience has shaped me into an employee with impeccable work ethic. I am full of energy and oftentimes thrive when working long hours. I feel I can handle any situation that is thrown my way, while in a punctual and professional manner.
