Meet Kelsi

I am an Early Childhood/Childhood Education major headed into my senior year of college. I have been nannying and babysitting my younger siblings, cousins, and family friends for over 7 years, as well as being involved in children's ministry and camps. My nannying experience includes two employments as a full-time and part-time nanny in the past 4 years, as well as part-time jobs from friends and professors in my college community. In my three years of studying education, I have taken classes on children's health and nutrition, child psychology, behavior management, and classroom safety, all of which directly translate into my childcare practices. This includes 30 hours a semester of field experience, where I am placed in a classroom to assist the lead teacher, observe students and do interactive activities meant to help further my understanding of how children learn and behave. Currently, I am the Children's Ministry Pre-K Assistant Read more Director at my church, where I schedule and plan lessons and teach once or twice a month in the classroom. I am also an assistant leader at our youth group, where I interact with and teach middle-school students once a week. I also nanny in the weekday mornings for a 6-year-old developmentally delayed child. I have always enjoyed playing with and spending time with children, and look forward to coming up with new games and activities with them.
