Ever since I was a child my self I was either playing mommy, playing school, as well as playing with the younger children in my neighborhood. Which is how I got my first babysitting job at 10 years old. I continued babysitting many nights a week up until 21 when I was blessed with a child of my own. After staying home with her during her first year I needed to go back to work but couldn't fathom being far from her so I got a job teaching in a daycare, running the after school program and floating in the mornings in the younger classes. I was then offered a job teaching preschool. I had found my passion and loved teaching. Over the years I worked in every age classroom for at least a year. I was a nanny for families during summer breaks. Still babysitting many evenings and weekends. Read more I then was offered to teach Music and movement to the whole school and found my favorite place in preschool. I continued this for many years. I took the last 10 years break from teaching to help a friend grow his business. Then 3 years ago I began my favorite role yet, being a grandmother to my precious grandbaby. I have cared for her full time. Now it is time for her to start preschool and be around other children. So I am ready to find a family that with be a perfect match for me, as well as I for them. I believe children need a consistent schedule, a loving environment, as well as always be given a chance to learn . Learning opportunities are everywhere. When my granddaughter is awake, I am teaching her. When we are eating, cooking, playing or taking a walk. We are learning colors, shapes, sorting, and about foods nutrition, where food comes from. When we are outside we talk about the flowers , trees, birds, and anything else we see. I believe children who are treated with respect , give respect in return. I believe children need boundaries, as well as discipline. I have never had a behavior problem with the children I have cared for because they know I love them but won't participate or respond to bad beahvior. I think kids act up when they are angry, feel unheard, or when they are bored. I wish all who are looking for a nanny, the beat in their search. If you think we might be a match , let's talk.
