I am a mother of a fourteen year old and a four year old. When my fourteen year old was enrolled in a private daycare, I decided I would be available to offer my services. I initially started out as a substitute when they were short staffed. I eventually became a "floating assistant" and ultimately landed the Lead Teacher position for the three year old classroom. My classroom consisted of twenty four children which included one special needs child. I created lesson plans and activities. I enjoyed every moment of it! Eventually, my child moved onto public school and I decided that I would pursue a different career. Since COVID has reared it's ugly head and forced several people to lose their jobs, I was able to stay at home with my youngest (4 year old). I quickly realized that my calling is in child care and I enjoyed teaching Read more him and having him on a structured schedule. He is now in public Pre-K (counting to 300, writing his name, knows his phone number and quite a bit more). I also volunteer once a week for a two year old classroom.
