Hi, my name is Ismahan! I was raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. A little bit about me... I worked in a k-8 public charter school for several years. I started as an Americorps reading tutor and tutored k-4 students. I then moved on to be a special education teacher assistant working with mainly k-5 students. I supported students who had individual education plans and provided general classroom support. Eventually, I was able to progress to become a lead spEd teacher assistant where I taught more students individually and in small groups. I also led after-school activities such as financial literacy groups and a girls STEM club. While working at a school for all these years, I was also simultaneously working in care facilities for adults with developmental disabilities.
