Hey there! My name is Mac, a 23 year old graduating college senior attending Oglethorpe University and pursuing a Bachelors in Science (psychology major). This past year I have been working with a bubble since the beginning of the COVID pandemic, but as schools opened back up recently I am now in-between jobs. As of April 6th, I am fully-vaccinated for COVID-19. I have around five years in smaller groups of childcare (1-4 children), and two in larger groups. With a major in psychology, I find it rewarding to look after children. Cliche as it may be, childhood is such a crucial time in a person's life, for both the child and the parent. The questions they ask, the situations they navigate, the knowledge they acquire-these are all fundamental aspects that shape a child into who they will become. It is a developmental narrative, so to speak. As such, it Read more is imperative that the time one's child spends with any adult figure be one of great value, as our guidance is what will shape this developmental narrative. With the aide of the tools that I have learned in my various psychology classes, I believe that I can enrich your children's lives. Perhaps my biggest strength is the ability to adapt. No child is alike, and it is important to be able to respect that. I find it easy to shapeshift into a personality that the child feels more comfortable with, while still making it known who the authority is. I also like to diversify activities—perhaps one day we'll spend working on an art project, and another we'll spend going on an adventure in the park. I like to challenge children to think both creatively but also with insight, appreciating the world around them. I am also exceptionally fitted to work with children who are neurodiverse/special-needs. I have two dogs at home, so pets are not a problem. Overall, I love children because they have a thought process so unlike our own. They're creative, imaginative and energetic. It would be a pleasure to work with yours. References can be provided upon request. Thank you in advance for your consideration! Kindly, Mac
