I have over 15 years of experience working with children in a variety of educational and caregiving roles. My journey began with occasional babysitting and has grown into a lifelong passion for supporting children’s growth through play, connection, and hands-on learning. I come from a close-knit family with an older sister who has Down syndrome and two younger siblings, so I’ve grown up surrounded by children and individuals with disabilities. This background has made me especially comfortable, patient, and understanding in diverse caregiving settings. I spent a summer as a camp counselor for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, and in college I worked for three years as a naturalist aide, assisting with environmental education field trips for students in grades K–12. I also spent a summer as an environmental counselor for kids ages 8–12, guiding outdoor play and nature-based learning. After graduating, I worked as an administrative assistant with Read more Special Olympics North Dakota and later as a paraprofessional with children ages 5–12 with behavioral challenges. Currently, I’m a full-time preschool teacher, where I provide a nurturing, play-based environment that supports emotional and social development. I also work part-time at the Dunwoody Nature Center, teaching a “Chickadee and Me” class for toddlers (18 months to 4 years) and their caregivers. I lead educational activities at birthday parties and community events as well. I hold a BA in Biology and a Master of Science from the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources. I love bringing my passion for science and nature into the classroom through hands-on exploration. I’m also a skilled artist with a lifelong love of arts and crafts, and I believe creativity is an essential part of child development. Whether it’s painting, storytelling, or imaginative play, I aim to help children feel confident, curious, and inspired. I am CPR and First Aid certified and always prioritize safety, kindness, and communication. I had a joyful, supportive childhood myself, and I strive to help create that same experience for every child in my care.
