I have worked as a Personal Care Assistant for 18+ years. 1998-2005-- Small Wonders Daycare, starting as a teacher assistant then moved to lead teacher. Started out in the infant room with 8+ babies from 0-12 months, then moved to lead teacher in the 2 yr old room with up to 18 2yr olds. 2005-2009, Habersham YMCA as lead teacher and during the summer as camp lead counselor. Worked with the 3yr old class throughout the year and 4 & 5 yr olds during summer camp. 2011-present, private duty Personal Care Assistant for 104yr woman. Feeding, bathing, changing, cooking, cleaning. Within the last year, she has had a feeding tube placed into her stomach so I have become very comfortable using the feeding tube, changing out bags and tubing, administering medicines via feeding tube, wound care, laundry, etc. Though out the years, I have taken multiple courses including but not Read more limited to the following, adult/infant CPR/First Aid, fire safety, infectious disease control, multiple child care courses such as how to use everyday objects as teaching tools, how to set up and follow lesson plans/schedules, and more.
