My name is Mari, I'm the mother of two lovely girls, 20 and 21. I remember them as mothers always do, young girls full of curiosity and bouncing with energy. To keep them entertained and out of trouble, I'd take them to the park, the kids' museum, story time at the library, and kept them busy with projects from our local craft shop. I loved sitting on the floor and coloring with them, or playing with legos, even bringing them into the kitchen and having them feel helpful. Even though I loved to see them smile, I have to admit that my love for children began many years before they were born, around age 13 when I started helping my mom out with babysitting jobs around our neighborhood. And now, 27 years later, I still feel the magic when I see a child smile.
