Hi Parents! My name is Kay and I have been a private caregiver for the past nine years, in both the Atlanta and Savannah area. I work primarily with children in the birth-5 age group. Most of my duties include meal preparation (bottles for the younger ones and light meals for the older toddlers/early preschoolers); diaper duties (including assisting with potty training); as well as maintaining play and sleep schedules. I like to keep the lines of communication open between myself and the parents: creating daily logs that record the little one's activities, sleeping habits and meals eaten. Restocking the diaper station, cleaning bottles/dishes made during meals, and tidying up the toy area/play room were also apart of my responsibilities as a caregiver. During nap time, I also don't mind handling light housework not related to the child: loading/emptying the dishwasher, putting in a load of clothes or something similar. Read more If other duties are required, they can be further discussed and negotiated in detail. I have experience with and feel very comfortable with short trips around the city. In the past, I've taken children to their doctor's appointments, to pick up groceries for the household, and fun field trips (including The Children's Museum, The Centre for Puppetry Arts, Centennial Park, Fernbank Museum, Piedmont Park, the Botanical Gardens, etc.). I am also fine with staying in the home during the duration of my shift if the parents would prefer the little ones don't travel far. I love coming up with fun activities that are developmentally appropriate that help their stimulate emotional/social, physical and intellectual growth! Reading/story time, music time/instrument play, arts'n'crafts and outside play are super important! I am First Aid/BLS/CPR certified; I am PALS certified (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and have Bloodborne Pathogens Training. I have no problem providing interested parents with a copy of my State issued I.D./License, Vehicle Registration, Car Insurance, and Criminal Background Check. Professional references, CV and Resume are provided upon request. I graduated from Savannah State University in 2011 with a Bachelor's in Sociology; Georgia State University in 2015 with a Master's in Public Policy ; and Southern New Hampshire University in 2016 with a Master's in History. Although my formal edu is unrelated to childcare, I've dedicated a decade of my life to children.
