Hello! My husband & I moved to O'ahu back in May & I am a FT UH Manoa Marine Biology student. In my spare time, I enjoy exploring the island, snorkeling, & being outdoors. I grew up surrounded by children & have always enjoyed interacting with them. Most people would describe me as very motherly & nurturing, as I am always willing to help out. I started as a mother's helper when I was 8 years old & then began babysitting on my own for several families in the NJ town where I grew up. Since then, I've cared for nearly 100 different children from countless families. I still have very good relationships with many of them & love to keep in touch! When I was 18, I became a live in nanny for a family friend while attending community college & have been a nanny to several other families Read more since then. Because I am in school full time and my classes end at different times throughout the week, I may not be able to take on a regular nanny or babysitter position, but I am interested in occasional evening/weekend childcare & possibly 1-2 scheduled weeknights. I have gone through CPR certification twice now, but am not currently up to date. I would be willing to re-certify if requested, but I do try to keep up with changes to protocol. I am familiar with all age groups & have taken 2 child/human development college courses as well. I consider myself moderately educated on many topics of infancy & toddlerhood and am always eager to educate myself on new topics that present themselves. I am a competent & safe driver & am very well versed on car seat & passenger safety. I am knowledgeable in most education fields: Spanish, English, maths, chemistry, geography, biology, etc., & would be happy to help with homework & some tutoring or study help if needed. I am also very comfortable with housework & errands. In my last nanny position, I was responsible for all childcare, meal prep/regular meals, laundry- incl. cloth diapers, grocery shopping, vacuuming, mopping, etc. I am also very experienced with different family dynamics. As a military spouse with many military friends, I am no stranger to the lifestyle. I know how taxing deployments are & how much they weigh on families. I have also worked for many single parents and know how that can effect both the stress of the parent and the needs of the child(ren). Finally, I hope this goes without saying, but I would be happy to work for a NICE, loving family of ANY background.
