I am a 45 year old mother of three children. My children are 20, 16, and 14 years old. I grew up in an Amish/Mennonite family and was always caring for children whether they were niece and nephews or children from my church. I left home at 17 to go to college where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. When my husband and I started having children, I decided to stay home and I did home day care for many years. I have been a stay at home mother for 20 years. As my children have gotten older, and started school I have taken part time office positions to help out with our family's finances. Currently I am working full-time at ISU in a temporary assignment that ends Feb. 27. This has been a great way to find out if I'm ready for full-time work. I'm not quite Read more ready. Even though my oldest is away at college, I have two children at home and it works better for our family if I have some flexibility to meet their needs.
