Hi! I'm Meika. I graduated from the University of Iowa with my BA in Elementary Education which has allowed me to work in various classroom settings with children in kindergarten through 6th grade. During my time at the University of Iowa, I worked as an assistant teacher in a Montessori based childcare center with infants and toddlers and as a before/after school care coordinator at a local elementary school. After moving to Florida in Spring 2018, I was hired as a long term middle school substitute teacher. I then taught 1st grade for two years, and virtual kindergarten and 3rd grade throughout the pandemic. I moved to Georgia in June 2021 after getting a job with Gwinnett County Public Schools where I taught 2nd grade ELA, Math, SS, Science, and Social Skills. I am a very active teacher/caregiver who loves being outdoors, exploring, learning new things, and doing anything crafty. Read more I'm very hands-on and I love staying busy, so I'd be more than happy to take care of any housework or pet care that needs done. I am very flexible, patient, and will always go above and beyond to make sure everyone (including furbabies) is well taken care of!
