I have been in the childcare field for the past 30 + years. I worked in a daycare setting during high school. I was in charge of the 3/4 year old group. After graduating I became a nanny in Forked River, NJ. I cared for two children ages 6 months and 3 years. After this job I returned home to Rapid City , SD and worked as a lead teacher at the hospital daycare center in the 3/4 year old program. I did lesson plans, art, stories and played with the children. I then decided to be a live in nanny in Stamford, CT. I cared for two children ages 8 months and 5 years old. I was in charge of keeping house also. I prepared all the meals. I took the children to their doctors appointments and play dates. Again after this I returned back home and was a Read more supervisor of the 4 staff members at the hospital daycare that worked the 3,4 and 5 year old rooms. In 1994 I got married and left this job and moved to Sioux City, IA. I worked at a daycare center there for a few months but didn’t like the way they cared for the children so I quit and worked at JC Penny. In 1995 my husband and I moved to Denison, IA where I worked at the Denison Job corps daycare center. I worked in each room from the infants to the 5 year olds room. When my husband and I decided to adopt our first child I decided to open a home daycare and have since been doing this job for 20 years. As you can tell children are my life and I am very good with them!! I am first aid certified and CPR certified also. I do have my CDA credential. Child Development associates credential. I am a mother to three beautiful children that my husband and I adopted. My oldest is our daughter Aimee who is 20 and is attending college at the University of Iowa. We have a 16 year old son Noah. He’s a sophomore in high school. Our youngest son is 10 and in the 4th grade. My husband and I have been married for 23 years.
