I have worked with a girl with special needs for the last year, it was a live-in position and an amazing experience. I am not certified, she was a friend of the family but I truly fell in love with this kind of work. The family would leave town for business a lot so I would manage the property, and help take care of their daughter and two dogs. I would cook, clean, and even pull weeds and water all the flowers. Me and M (their daughter) would do meal plans and go to the gym, to help teach some independence. We would do brain gym together for learning and growth, and yoga. Some days we go do fun activities like going to the dog park or a nature walk. I am sad to leave this family, but I had to move to a different state to finish my schooling.
