I started like most with babysitting. The summer after I graduated high school I was a live in nanny in Chicago, IL. I took care of a 6 year old with special needs and an infant under 1 year. I Read more obtain many certificates in child care including mandatory child abuse reporter, menu planning for meals that meet CACFP requirements, feeding infants in the CACFP and infant record keeping, civil rights, recommendations for a healthy child care environment, food production records, universal precautions and exposure control plans for childcare businesses, essentials for medication in child care, essentials for managing food allergies, essentials for infant safe sleep, essentials for prevention of shaken baby syndrome, essentials for supporting cultural diversity, essentials for safety in the child care environment, essentials for emergency preparedness, essentials for transportation in child care, essentials for prevention and control of infectious diseases, essentials for handling and storage of hazardous materials, essentials for understanding homelessness, and 6 credit hours in understanding principles of child development and learning, and advancing children's physical and intellectual development. I also was certified in infant/child CPR and first aid but it expires in November 2018 and I plan on renewing it.
