I am currently a single mother of a 13-year-old boy who is my world. During my pregnancy and while I was getting my degree I was in nanny for a few different families all having at least three children fairly close in age. I have always had children in toe that weren’t mine from the age of 13 on I am the oldest with five brothers my youngest brother is 17 years younger than me so I have always been a built-in babysitter. I worked over 10 years at Saint Alphonsus as a surgical coordinator due to Covid restraints IA chose a different career path went into behavioral health for children in he applied behavioral analysis department as their office manager. However unfortunately with Covid many families did not want in-home services and our department was shut down. I am at the age where I no longer want any more Read more children which makes kids so much more fun. I have been at home doing freelance jobs since August. And I absolutely love being able to be here when my son gets home from school on most days to be able to make dinner things of that nature. I think a job like this would be great for me. I have experience in trauma surgery, a multitude of office tasks, I am very organized, IA and very flexible, there isn’t too much that rattles me, I was BLS certified however there is no need to keep my certification current as of now . I am the typical football baseball all about my son Mom and I have a special place in my heart for kids. In fact one of the girls that I used to tend actually started working at the hospital right before I resigned. It was so awesome to see things come full circle teaching her cursive when she was a child and walking into an office and seeing her at the desk I don’t know just makes me beam tail to know that I had a small little hand and someone’s growing up. And I have wonderful patience with children and completely understand that kids will be kids. During my time with behavioral health I learned many many skills tools and techniques to help children stay focused burn off any extra energy stay on task and I believe in trying to give children choices versus demands especially if I am not the parent. I have worked with children of all ages all abilities each unique in their own special way. I am very well-versed with children that some people with label as spunky or energetic possibly a bit defiant since I was like that as a child and my son was too I’ve learned to kind of manage children create a little bit of structure keep it lighthearted and fun. I think it’s very important for children to interact with other people versus being on electronics. Even as infants I totally believe in reading to them talking to them and explaining everything that’s going on it really solidifies their language skills their thought organization and time management I don’t think it’s ever too early to do that for children. I have had experience in wound care and a few feeding tubes. For some reason kids seem to be attracted to me I am like a toddler and baby magnet. I am often the friend that offers up babysitting services as I had my son younger than most of my friends did because I just miss that cuddle snuggly bonding that you get a little kids I love the excitement enjoy and magic that children see the world and it’s awesome
