I am currently a teacher's assistant at district 96. I assist in teaching 5th graders. I love my job and find it extremely rewarding and I would love to become a teacher or social worker at some point. Prior to this I have worked with children with special needs for 7 years. I have dealt with many different types of behaviors (uncooperative, tantrums, violent melt downs, argumentative, etc.) and I feel that each child is unique in his/her way and should be dealt with according to their specific needs. Along with working with children with special needs I was a nanny a few years back to infant twins and also used to work at a pet store during my college years. I am extremely comfortable with both children and any type of pet (even reptiles).
