Hi! My name is Sam and I have extensive experience working with children! I am currently a full time Certified Child Life Specialist. To put it simply, I work with children and families to help them cope with hospitalization and medical experiences. At Children's Hospital University of Illinois I am the CCLS in the emergency department and also our pediatric psych unit. I also have previous experience as a CCLS in Pediatrics at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital and La Rabida Children's Hospital. I work with children of all ages, including premature infants all the way up through teen years. I also have extensive experience working with medically fragile children with high needs. Before becoming a CCLS I was an elementary school teacher in which I taught kindergarten for three years and third grade for two years! Throughout high school and college I babysat for numerous families as well ask working at Read more an after school care and summer day camp for kids. Needless to say, I have a LOT of experience working with children of all different ages and needs and nothing brings me more joy. I am also CPR and first aid certified and very comfortable with pets!
