In my experience, childcare began at home then expanded outward to assist other local families. I was the eldest of four children in a family which lost our father at a young age. Thus it was my responsibility to drive my younger siblings to their academic classes and sports activities, as well as manage grocery shopping and other necessities. Careful driving was installed in me at an early age and I consider the safety of my passengers to be a solemn duty. As a result, I have an excellent driving record. In addition, I was the preferred babysitter for multiple families in the surrounding neighborhoods. The children's ages ranged from infant to early teenager. When there were schedule conflicts between the various parents, the children would be brought to a single household and entrusted into my care instead of each household seeking a different sitter. Beyond walks, bike rides, and other outdoor activities, I also acted as the sole guardian for the children during trips to the Brookfield Zoo and Six Flags Great America. For indoor activities, I promoted arts and crafts projects. While I have had other jobs throughout the years, mostly entailing office work regarding health care or customer service, I was a nanny from 2009 to 2011 for a family with two children, a toddler boy and infant girl. I provided child care at the family’s residence during weekday afternoon and evening hours when both parents were at work, as well as some Saturdays. Responsibilities including feeding the children, educational play time, changing diapers, treating rashes, socializing the children with how to kindly treat the family pets, reading stories, settling children down for nap time, tidying up while the children were asleep, and more. Honesty is an important value to me. While I am seeking employment in order to secure financial stability for my own family, I also sincerely care about the welfare and happiness of the families I watch over. I will do my best to provide open communication and to uphold all family values.
