My name is Erin Roche and I am an outstanding caregiver. I love, love, love children and have been babysitting regularly for 10 years. I graduated with a BA from Columbia College Chicago in Vocal Performance and Marketing. I am now available for full-time and part-time babysitting and nannying starting September 20. Late night and even overnight are fine with me! In the past year I have cared for children 0-8 years old, sometimes up to four or more children at once. I plan fun crafts and activities, sing-a-longs, and meals for my families and make it a priority to leave your home cleaner than when I arrived. I have been trusted by several families to take their children on public transportation and in my car throughout the city to outside activities and school and to plan their day from before breakfast to bedtime. During high school I was a Read more camp counselor for children ages 5-10. I was responsible for my own "classroom" of about 20 children, supervising everything from activities to swim safety, to mealtimes. In addition to camp parents, many of my clients were exclusively Spanish-speaking immigrant families. Reading and instilling a love for reading is a passion of mine; therefore, I have previously volunteered for In2Books.com, a website that pairs adult mentors with elementary children to be their penpal and partner through their reading list for the year. As a babysitter or nanny, I always find time to read a book or two or more! Some of my favorite moments with my families have included making barbie clothes according to the children's designs, supporting healthy eating by letting the children pick out a fruit or vegetable at the store, seeing reading development progression, and playing piano while the children and I sing together! I believe that childcare is no "menial" job, but an important stand-in for parenting while the parents are away. I value consistency in the families' values and rules at all times, while still making sure the time the children and I share is special and fun. I am truly rewarded in filling a supportive role for a family that needs some extra help! I have proven to be dependable, responsible, and passionate about giving the best care possible.
