I began babysitting families around the neighborhood six years ago. From babysitting I have worked with many children, from infants to junior high. In addition, last summer I nannied for 3 boys (10, 7, & 2). I prepared meals for the boys, did their laundry, played games with them, and took them on fun outings. From this nanny position I grew an ample amount of patience and gained further hands-on experience working with children of various ages. I grew an attachment to the boys and was sad to leave them and return back to college in Normal, IL. However, while away at Illinois State University I am employed at Thomas Metcalf Elementary School where I have worked for the past two years. I have worked as a lunch monitor where I was responsible for helping the children prepare their meals, making sure they were following the school's rules, and getting Read more them back to class in a timely manner. I also take the kids out for recess. During recess I have more freedom to play alongside the children, while keeping an eye on the students to ensure their actions are safe. In addition, I work as an After School Employee. During after school I am responsible for instructing students on a craft and playing various games with them. Through my employment at Metcalf I have gained so much experience and learned to work with such a vast variety of kids (pre-K to grade 8). I love my time spent at Metcalf and look forward working there for the duration of my college education. At Illinois State University I am a Psychology major with a Children's Studies minor. I hope to pursue my doctorate degree one day, as I dream of becoming a Clinical Child Psychologist. I simply adore children and believe this career path will be very rewarding for me. I want to be that positive difference and influential role model for a child who needs it. Overall, I am a fun, caring, kind-hearted nanny who works really well with kids of all ages. I work hard and am so compassionate about ensuring each child's happiness. I look forward to working with many awesome kids in my future and hope I make as positive mark in their lives as they make on mine.
