My name is Kevyn Porter and I am a 24 year old homegrown Chicagoan. I attended Northern Illinois University until 2013 and graduated with my degree in Sociology. While in college I was volunteered for several non-for-profit mentoring programs where I gained skills that got me through college and use to this today. Throughout college I found myself finding joy in working with children. Seeing them blossom and grow is one of things that makes what I do worth while. After graduation I decided that I wanted to work with adolescents in a more intimate setting so I took a position as a youth advocate for Lutheran Child and Family Services specifically Lutherbrook Child & Adolescent Center. After spending a year there I found the opportunity to work with children in the autism. I currently work for Easter Seals Therapeutic School for autism and autism research as a paraprofessional. I Read more am currently searching for a possible position after school hours (after 3:30pm) Monday- Friday to possible be a caregiver to children. I would prefer to work with adolescent children but am flexible to make changes and am open to a weekend schedule as well.
