I have been caring for children since I was just a teenager back in Africa. When I moved to the US to further my studies, I continued this professionally by working initially at my church daycare. I started out by working with newborns in the nursery and moved on to working with Toddlers. That was in 2001, and since then, I have worked with kids from different age groups. I have tutored adolescents and teens in a program (Champion Learning Program) and worked with this age group in an after school program planning and coordinating activities for them at Leake & Watts. I can do drop off and pick up to and from school or parties or other activities, as long as public transportation is OK (I do not own a car). My duties usually include providing help with homework, laundry, meal prep, etc. If supervision on trips or outdoor Read more activities is needed, I can provide that as well. In addition, I am able to perform Child and Adult CPR and First Aid.

I chose Bisoh because she has experience caring for children. So, I thought, if people entrust their children to her, I feel confident entrusting my non-human children. I made a marvelous choice! Not only is Bisoh a lovely person, she is reliable, hardworking, and was great even with my problem-child pet (a cat named Humbert Humbert). She cared for my cat, small flock of parakeets, and a number of house plants while I was on vacation for a week and a half. She did a wonderful job. Only after I returned did I learn that she is also an NYC Civic Corps alumnus (as am I). So, for those concerned about having someone unknown come into their home in their absence, Bisoh is not only very trustworthy based on my personal experience, but she has the official stamp of good character and reliability from the City of New York. As Civic Corps members, we are required to pass the same background check process (including fingerprinting) that NYC teachers must pass. I would be honored to work with Bisoh again.

Bisoh cared for our infant son from 3 months-6 months of age. She was lovely to work with - very responsible, very loving with our son, and very hard-working. She used every minute to do something helpful, from laundry to dishes to picking up my older kids' toys. She was so focused on our son, it made it very easy for me to go to work. Bisoh has a very serious work ethic and we loved having her as part of our family even if only for a few months (we moved, which is the reason she stopped working for us). I would highly recommend Bisoh as a babysitter or nanny.
