Hello, My name is Mr. Will and I'm a certified Waldorf teacher looking for a small group of families to pair up with to provide a nannying experience that would either be a good beginning point for children to segway into a Waldorf pre-school or just a beautiful childhood beginning to help set up children in a healthy way for the rest of their lives. I have trained for 3 years to be a Waldorf teacher and one year of experience working at the Chicago Waldorf School. I am confident in my abilities and love working with young children and families. Working in a school environment was not a fit for me but I am thankful for what I learned there and I still have the support of my fellow teachers from the school as well as the teachers who trained me if anything ever came up that I was Read more unsure about. In the past I have worked with ages 3-6 with most of my interactions being with the 3 and 4 year olds. I would like to get a group together of family friends or neighbors who have a space for us and I can supply the classroom supplies and curate the space in a way that is appropriate for the needs of the children. This emphasis of this education system is human centered and at this age that mostly involves learning how to interact with other children and how to interact with adults. Daily activities will include free play (both indoor and outdoor), circle time (learning to follow a teacher, be a part of a group and working on developmental movements through play, games, finger games, and singing seasonally appropriate songs intended for the age, snack, lunch, story time (puppet play) and nap. Essentially running a small Waldorf nursery class. I would love to answer any questions you may have as of now as well as along the way during our time together; why things are done a certain way, how we talk to the children and why, why specific stories are selected, how do you work with fine motor and gross motor skills and when? Why does Waldorf focus on the social only adding academic work at age 7? etc. Salary can be discussed between myself and the families (individually), and I will have to meet your children and see what their needs are to see if I would be the right person to work with them. I am looking forward to hearing from you! Thank you for reading, Mr. Will
