My name is Theresa I moved back to Chicago (Lakeview) this past year to begin my Masters in Clinical Social Work at University of Chicago and am currently looking for a summer nanny/babysitting position while I'm on break! I have been working with infants and children since the age of 12 in a variety of positions including mother's helper, babysitter, camp counselor, behavioral aid, and behavioral youth counselor. I graduated from Boston College as an Applied Psychology/Human Development Major (Children and Adolescents focus). I am very passionate about working with kids and always making creative fun ways for positive play time! While working with infants and toddlers I am always incorporating sensory play and lots of reading to encourage your child's positive development. With older children, I do lots of crafts and games and active play! I'm also trained in Collaborative Problem Solving which gives me the tools to handle challenging behaviors or tantrums in a really calm and positive way that teaches kids how to work WITH adults in a relational/cooperative way. I am background checked, can provide great references upon request, I have my own car, clean driving record, and am comfortable doing light housekeeping.
