I am currently a PhD student at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and looking for some fun work to fill my free time! Growing up with a military father, I started babysitting from a young age. I'm experienced in last-minute, on-call, multi-day care for groups of children of all ages, as well as individual care. I've served as a long-term on-call babysitter for families undergoing tumultuous circumstances (such as divorce, a sudden deployment, health complications, etc.). I strictly observe all COVID protocols. I have experience in tutoring most subjects for high school and below, as well as AP exam or SAT/ACT standardized test preparation. I've also taught creative writing, and help children with intellectual or developmental disorders find effective accommodations and coping mechanisms to facilitate a better educational experience. I've had experience as a medical caretaker as well as a companion for disabled children and adults. I myself am Read more on the autistic spectrum and am attention deficit, and have volunteered in advocacy work. I studied all aspects of disability For a time, I worked with autistic, ADHD, and other neurodivergent kids middle school-young adult age. I worked for a full year with two four and six year olds in Virginia, and have experience in care work, including using AAC. I have the most experience overall working with autistic and ADHD (or otherwise neurodivergent) children. I have been trained in Title IX Health and Safety, First Aid, CPR (adult and infant, though my certification is out of date), and completed Red Cross babysitting courses. I also have a certificate from Lynda Learning in time management, as well as swimming and scuba diving certifications. In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, educational podcasts, watching documentaries, advocacy, video games, sewing, museum visits, yoga and walks. I love finding fun and creative ways to learn and spend time together with kids of all ages!
