I recently left a non-profit job in order to spend more time doing what I truly love, which is: working with babies, kids, and parents! Friends often tell me that taking a walk with me is like have baby goggles on, because I am always making friends with babies and toddlers :) I have worked closely with families with newborns, and am excited to do more of this work as I complete my post-partum doula training. I am especially committed to providing post-partum support to families who would not otherwise have access to these kinds of services. If you have a newborn (or will soon), let's talk! EXPERIENCE I have been babysitting since I was 11, and have intermittently tutored as well (though in the interest of full disclosure I don't have nearly as much tutoring experience as I do general childcare and/or experiential education experience). I have spent time Read more in a childcare capacity with kids ranging from newborns to middle schoolers. I have done newborn care (including overnight, and including parent support) and have ample experience working with babies (ages 0-18 months)–my favorite age! I have also worked as a seasonal environmental educator (primarily for 5th and 6th graders, though simultaneously did programming with kids a few years younger). This entailed co-facilitating lessons and exploration with rotating groups of 10-15 5th/6th graders, with the goals being to build exciting, safe, and cohesive group dynamics while nurturing kids' curiosity and teaching basic ecology and conservation.
