Hi there! My name is Mar, I am a Chicago native recently returned after 6 years living in NYC, where I graduated with a BA in Screen Studies + Screenwriting at The New School. I hold extensive experience working with children of all ages, and take such joy in doing so. Aside from my evening nanny care in New York, I have spent time in the Western suburbs of Paris as a live-in au pair for 3 children (ages 7-11), a children's theater assistant director in Chicago suburbs, kindergarten TA, and most recently, working as an art teacher in the Bronx (grades K-4). I spend a majority of my time practicing and teaching art, with paper making, bookbinding and creative writing at the forefront -- I try and bring these mediums into play with children, as I've found kinesthetic learning and creation is the best way to get in touch Read more with oneself and one's emotional vocabulary at a young age. Additionally, I am an avid pet lover (from big, slobbery dogs to tiny turtles and guinea pigs), and licensed driver with a car if pickups/drop-offs are needed.
