Hello Everyone! My name is Brian Walmer. I live in East Lakeview and can travel via CTA (I have a valid IL license, but no car) and would prefer to work on the north side but am relatively flexible depending on your location. I’m currently a nanny to a fantastic 22 month old boy that I’ve known since he was 8 months old. Mom has decided she’d like to take time off work and be a stay at home mom, so that leaves me looking for a new family. Before I was a nanny, I worked at a daycare as a lead infant teacher. I had 8 children to look after that ranged in age from 3 months to 15 months. With the help of my amazing support teacher, we created a dynamic classroom environment and loved watching the kids learn, grow, and develop. I also worked in our kitchen Read more as a meal coordinator, ensuring that meals were distributed correctly, being mindful of each child’s allergies and other dietary needs. When needed, I would provide support for other classrooms which included toddlers, early preschool, and preschool aged children. I earned my Child Development Associate (CDA) from the state of Illinois along with certified CPR training from Red Cross and an Illinois food handlers certificate. In the daycare setting, most learning activities took place inside and one-on-one time was limited due to the number of children in a classroom. As a nanny, my child and I spend hours outdoors walking, going to parks, playing, and attending classes. In the colder months, we attend indoor classes to continue the learning process and appropriate dress still allows for outdoor playing and learning. I love the one-on-one time that I get to spend developing and nurturing a bond with the child. To see them daily and watch them grow is such an amazing gift. Through my experiences as an infant teacher and nanny, I’ve connected with many amazing families and have been able to provide babysitting care on nights and weekends for them. I have a great deal of experience babysitting newborn through elementary school age infants and toddlers. I joined the childcare field in 2022 and know in my heart I have found my calling.
