My name is Meghan Redding and I currently work as a Bartender at an upscale restaurant in midtown east and have for the past three years. Prior to moving to NYC, I was a trained lifeguard and swim lesson instructor for seven years. I graduated with honors from Millikin University in 2013 with a degree in Musical Theatre. I am twenty five years old. I have extensive experience with childcare which makes me extremely qualified for this position. I was a mother's assistant/nanny for two children for over four years. Their ages ranged from infant-6. With infant, it's important to give them what is called "tummy time." This gives the baby opportunities to reach to his/her front or side for different "safe" items. Babies should also be put to sleep always on their backs and watched at all times. With two year olds, it is important to keep their senses stimulated. With Read more four to six year olds, it is important to engage in dramatic play, block building, puzzles, and make sure they have opportunities to move their bodies to music. I have been babysitting for numerous families over the past 7 years kids ranging from infant to 12 years old. My mother has worked in early childhood education for thirty years and I have learned most about children from her. I love to work with children, and put safety first, but still provide them with someone comfortable and fun to trust and learn from. Due to my life guarding experience, I am CPR and first aid certified. During that time, I was the most requested private swim lesson instructor. I am energetic, kind, and compassionate. I am also very helpful and have an excellent driving record. References are available upon request.
