I am a recent graduate of The University of Alabama, where I received a degree in both Restaurant, Hotel and Meetings Management and Early Childhood Development. I have loved working with children from a very young age. My high school job was my first professional foray into childcare. I worked in the Extended Care program of my elementary school for 2 years as a Preschool Teacher's Aide. After graduating high school, I left Chicago to attend college in Alabama, where I decided to extend my studies by adding the Early Childhood Development major. Through these ECD courses I created lesson plans of variety of curriculums, completed trainings, and worked with children in the on-campus lab school. In my last year at The University of Alabama, I worked at a local Montessori school in the Preschool rooms under the direct tutelage of the Preschool Director. In this role, I created and Read more facilitated developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities, communicated with parents about the progress of their children and dabbled in toilet training and discipline. Outside of the preschool setting, I also regularly babysat for two families. One family had a 3-year old boy and a 6-month old girl and the other family had a precocious 5-year old girl. For these charges I toilet trained, did bath and bed time and shuffled the children back and forth between school and other activities. I am a naturally curious individual, so I understand a child's mind. I am patient and caring, while also maintaining the ability to discipline appropriately. My academic and professional experience will allow me to provide the ultimate care for your children. I also have a background check that I can provide at your request, along with being in the process of becoming CPR certified. A creative at heart, games, activities, programs and outings are easy for me to discover. I look forward to seeing the world through a child's eyes and love getting to know the family. I am eager to begin my relationship with my future charges, so I hope to hear from you soon!
