I started in my neighborhood when I was in grade school. I would go to their house after school and take the children to the playground across the street or on a stroller ride. Then I went with my older brother but I did all the work. When I was 16 I had several families that gave me steady work. It was Friday and Saturday date nights for them and weekdays the mom would leave for work and I would stay until the dad came home. In college I studied Nursing. I did not finish and returned to my hometown and took Early Childhood Education at Oakton. I have since been employed by licensed daycare centers both play based curriculum and Montessori.
