Hello - I'm Caroline :) I received my Early Childhood Credential in 2019, after a decade working in apparel design & art. In 2014, I began volunteering with People’s Resource Center leading after school art programs in the west suburbs. One session was with middle schoolers, and the other rotated with kindergarten age up to 6th grade. In 2015, I began babysitting for my cousin's toddler [playing, dinner, bath time, bed/stories]. Coming up with crafts, doing kid yoga, and adventuring outside are some of my favorite things to do! After I completed my MFA, I worked at South Loop Montessori School from 2018-2020. At SLMS, I spent 2 years working as a floating teacher [6 months -9 years], 1 year as an assistant administrator, and multiple months as an E-learning supervisor [also, creating craft & kids yoga videos]! I was a substitute teacher at Dupage Montessori School [Naperville] from 2022-2023, Read more working with ages 15 months-12 years old. I spent most of that time with toddlers [1-3 years old] and our lower elementary class [1st, 2nd, 3rd graders combined]. I love working with children, and have been lucky to work with so many ages. I prefer to care for an infant/toddler & continue as they get older :) My caretaking style is rooted in my Montessori experience with fostering independence, while being very outdoor/material based [no tech], and creative [making art]! I am a believer in gentle parenting techniques & love the goal of 1000 hours outside. I'm hoping to carry my experience into a steady part time 2-4 day role. I’m excited to spend time focused on a child or two, rather than a group of 15-25 children :) I would like to begin helping a family anytime this Spring! Currently I work at a yoga studio and do animal/house sitting. When I'm not working I make art, bicycle/hike, bake, manage my online sustainable fashion company & spend time with family.
