I am Shannon and I am a May 2013 graduate of Indiana University where I earned a degree in elementary education with a concentration in reading and writing. Over the years I’ve acquired a lot of experience with watching and supervising children, from infancy to early teens. I have gained this experience from babysitting, being a summer nanny, holding a day camp counselor position, working in a day care center, and through field experiences inside the classroom. I have also taken many classes during my IU career that make me professionally prepared to work with children. Some of these include taking a music class where I expanded my ability to sing and play the piano, an art class where I learned appropriate crafts and art activities for children of certain ages, and even a childhood development class where I learned about the appropriate stages of a child’s life.
