Meet Maia-makeda

Hi, It's an honor to have your attention and your consideration to allow me in assisting your child(ren) in shining their light! I was most recently employed at a Montessori school where I assisted in care for one of the infant classrooms, predominantly. I occasionally helped with the toddler and preschool aged children as well. The theory Montessori is centered around independence and a more child-led view of education. Given every child is different, the encouraging factor of the theory, I’ve found, is that the children gain a great deal of self sufficiently and confidence within themselves a bit earlier than at the standard day care. Prior to that, I was employed at a nursery where I floated between 5 classrooms assisting their teachers. The children range from ages 2-5. During my time at the nursery, I worked alongside a 3 year old with exceptionalities during her virtual Occupational Therapy. Read more I also assisted two 6 year olds with their kindergarten routines while they attended school through zoom. Before my time at the nursery, I assisted 8 year old twins in their remote classes in addition to their daily routine. The well-being and creativity of each and every child I come into contact with is my priority. Though I'm currently majoring in Early Childhood Education, I have recently shifted my focus to Art Therapy. With this shift I am beyond excited to marry my love for the tater tots and the arts. Some of my artistic interest include (but are not limited to), painting, crocheting, knitting, baking, and jewelry making. I hope we can connect soon. Thank you for your time!
