My name is Lyndsay Thomas and I have had the opportunity to teach pre-school for two years while employed in Peoria, IL. During this time, I experienced working with children from 12 months to five years old. As a pre-school teacher, I was responsible for implementing fun and creative lesson plans to meet student needs. I also have two years of experience working with children with special needs. During this time, I worked with students in grades K-4th grade. I feel that this was an amazing experience because I learned my classroom management techniques that apply to individual students as well as the class as a whole. While working at the Peoria Riverfront Museum, I was the lead teacher for the pre-school summer camp experience. My lessons were based off of the curriculum provided by the Museum for the summer camp program. Currently, I hold a BA in history education Read more and have obtained a teaching certificate for the State of IL. I consider myself a very patient and understanding person. I believe these two attributes are critical when working with children. Although I do not have nanny experience, I believe I would be a good fit for any parent looking for a responsible caregiver for the child(ren). I am responsible and would use my time to teach and provide other duties around the home.
