I began babysitting when I was 12 years old, and continued babysitting regularly until age 18. I then attended Illinois State University and earned a bachelors degree in Psychology in May 1987. After college graduation I worked as a nanny for a family in Saugatuck Michigan for 1 summer caring for 2 children ages 8 & 10 years old. I returned to Rockford in August 1987, started working in Child Protective Services, and continued in that arena for 13 years. I was married in 1996, and have 2 sons. In January 2000 I began my new "journey", as a stay at home Mom, raising my own 2 sons. They are now 16 & 18 years old. Both are varsity athletes and honor students in high school, no longer needing constant attention.
