Hi! I'm Iggy. I have 6 years of experience working with youth in professional environments. During the school year, I am a high school paraeducator. I'm a certified lifeguard, CPR/first-aid trained, and I have my youth mental health first aid certification. I have experience with ages 1-18, and have experience working with children with mental and physical disabilities. My favorite part of working with kids is helping them embrace their creativity and curiosity. I love finding what kiddos love to do and supporting them in it, whether it's building a pillow fort, reading aloud together, or playing outside. I respect the intelligence and independence of the kids I work with, and try to provide gentle, discovery-based guidance when needed. P.S. I have been a caretaker as early as I can remember. I started babysitting for children in my neighborhood in middle school. I went to college and obtained my degree in Early Childhood Education. Let me start by saying that I am available immediately. I am retired and find I have way too much time on my hands.  I wanted to do something to fill some of the time so I decided I would like to start watching children for people that need a dependable and caring person while they work outside of the home.  I know for a fact that it is a huge relief just knowing when you work outside of the home and you have someone there that is watching over your little ones that is dependable and caring -- that can mean everything.  I have raised 2 daughters and have cared for my 6 grandchildren throughout their years of growing.  When I'm not caring for your children I like to be with my grandchildren as much as possible and go to their sporting events. Spending time with family is very important to me. My preference would probably be to care for children 3 and over. I look forward to being able to come into your home and care for your children while they are in my care. I will do my best to be someone they look forward to seeing when I'm there. .  

I have played many roles in my 7 years as a child educator, from helping infants with basic care needs such as diapering, eating, and sleeping all the way to teaching 1st graders how to read, write, and basic math skills. I received my bachelors degree in early childhood education from EIU in 2019 and have been CPR certified several times in my different placements. I enjoy crafts and time outside, but can also follow the child’s wants and needs for playtime. I will be attending night classes, so I am only available until 4:30 each day.
