Hello and welcome! I have cared for children in many varying capacities-as nanny, camp counselor, wedding babysitter, music teacher, after school care, and general babysitter! Each of these requires much responsibility, but also a lot of spontaneity and fun! I have cared for children 3 mos. to 13 years old, and have 10 years of experience. I graduated last May from University of Illinois-Chicago with a degree in Sociology. I am a burgeoning musician-I love folk music and sing and play the guitar! If you know any children seeking basic to intermediate guitar or singing lessons, or have need of a singer for birthday parties, contact me! Caring for children is very important and I have taken each one of my childcare positions seriously while bringing my creativity into each job. I have been a summer nanny for two summers in a row to two girls, ages 6 and 8 Read more respectively when I first started in the summer of 2014. I played with them Mon-Fri 8A-6P, drop-off and pick-up to half-day summer camp, and had many arts, outdoors, and library-related adventures. We went to Old Town School of Folk Music several times! Their mother is a tutor and advocate for the arts (as am I). This nanny position required conflict moderation, a sense of humor, and a quick wit! Currently, I care for a 2.5 year old boy. I take him to the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, to the bounce house, and lots of adventures to public parks and the outdoors. I help the mom out with small household errands as well. He will have a baby brother in April I will be caring for as well! Occasionally, I watch his cousin with him, who is the same age. My experience and training has come from real life-caring for children for a long time in the classroom, at summer camp, in their homes.
