Hello! My name is Austin Aten. Since my first high school job coaching tennis, I have always had a love for working with children and that passion has stuck with me throughout the past 10 years. In college, I studied early childhood education and was exposed to several different ages through observations, hands-on student teaching experiences, and various babysitting/tennis coaching jobs. After college, I have gained experience as the head professional of junior development at my local tennis center where I was in charge of creating a curriculum of tennis classes for local children (ages 3-15) in my area. Not only this, but I have also had full time experience working in a 2 year old classroom at Next Generation Early Learning Center. While here, I have also had exposure working part-time filling in for infant classrooms. Here in Houston, I am an assistant teacher with the Kinkaid School. Additionally, Read more I am certified in CPR/AED through the American Heart Association until September 2023. More personally, I have several interests that help me to keep an active lifestyle. I like to play tennis (and am up for teaching tennis lessons as I played in college), taking my dog for walks around Buffalo Bayou Park, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.
