I come from a family of eight children. Beginning at a young age, I became well-versed in caring for kids while helping with my four younger siblings. In recent years, I have particularly enjoyed becoming "Auntie" to my six nieces and nephews! Throughout my teenage years I had a full schedule babysitting regularly for multiple families, watching newborn infants as well as school-aged children. I have babysat frequently for over 15 different families, being independently responsible for one to five children at a time. Other experiences I have include serving as a substitute Sunday School teacher for preschoolers, helping in my church nursery, and volunteering on a childcare team monthly for a mom's group for several years. I completed a child safety class offered by my church prior to serving in children's ministry. While in high school I worked as a nanny for a summer caring for a five year-old Read more and a two year-old. My job responsibilities included getting the children up and dressed in the morning, preparing meals, laying them down for naps, and providing a range of activities for their entertainment, mental stimulation, and exercise. My care-giving experience also includes working as a home care attendant for an elderly woman for four years, being responsible for monitoring and recording her activity, administering medications and treatments, ensuring good physical hygiene, preparing meals, cleaning, laundry and other household chores, and preoccupying her with fine motor activities as well as taking her for a scenic ride, to visit a relative, or to go out to eat. In college I completed a semester-long children's ministry internship, working each week with the children by organizing activities, teaching lessons, and assisting in the preparation of the children's Christmas program. I graduated from Southwestern Assemblies of God University in 2013 with a bachelor's degree in Church Ministries and a minor in music. My hobbies and interests include music, cooking, sewing, floral design, and constructing greeting cards. I enjoy making a variety of crafts and projects and like teaching kids how to make them. One of my favorite things to do is teach piano lessons and have instructed seven students ranging from 6 years old to 16 years old. I am enthusiastic about helping children develop their artistic and creative talents as well as encouraging a love of reading and participation in physical exercise and outdoor activities!
