I come from a very large family, so I have always loved interacting and caring for children. This fueled my passion for child care and led me to babysit and nanny in high school and throughout college. I also worked at a sleep-away summer camp for four summers during college. While I was in college, I also nannied for a prominent political family in my college community. This included picking up the three boys (elementary-aged) from school and taking them to various activities. I also took them to appointments, helped with homework, and cooked dinner every night. The youngest had severe disabilities, and working with these boys helped instill patience with children and a deep respect for routine and structure. My love for kids led me to my current field: teaching. I love working with the students every day, but I am not able to build the connections/relationships I had Read more hoped for because of all the politics involved with education now. This is why I am looking to get back into the nannying field! I have worked with children ages newborn to sixteen and am currently a full-time nanny for two boys, ages 6 months and two years, until mid-July when the family is moving. I am extremely flexible with hours and duties; I expect to do housekeeping, errand-running, and meal preparation. I am First Aid and CPR certified and suicide prevention counseling certified as well (this is helpful in dealing with a variety of things: bullying, transitions/changes, family struggles, etc.). I am also willing to relocate and/or travel if necessary. I have a background check and references that I can show if interested.
