When I had my own children, now grown, I realized I didn't want to miss any milestones or the opportunity to teach them what I thought valuable in this world like determination and integrity. Instead of going to work I decided to have home day care which worked perfect for association as well as opportunity to go on field trips to parks, the library, or museums. When my kids went to school, I became a preschool lead teacher for up to 16 two year olds. I loved the personalities of the individual children, seeking to best fulfill their curiosities. Developing a curriculum was great fun. Some years later I decided to become a nanny, starting with a friend who asked me to care for their two year old. I nurtured him until 12, also helping with his homeschooling. More recently, I have accepted part time jobs, as I went back Read more to school to do massage therapy which I love as much. However, I found I couldn't give up caring for children altogether as they've been an integral part of my life, fulfillment, and joy.
