My husband and I recently moved to to Bloomington from Grand Haven, Michigan, where I was a full-time nanny for a family with three kids: ages one, three, and four. As a nanny, I developed a fantastic repertoire of age-appropriate activities and a thorough understanding kids' developmental needs. Hello! My name is Madalynn Johnstone, and I’m originally from Rialto, California, but I grew up in the beautiful Brown County area of Nashville, Indiana. Along with my four and a half years of experience working in a small café where I specialized in preparing healthy, wholesome meals, I also have experience as a babysitter. I cared for my neighbor’s two sweet kids—a little boy and girl—along with their dog, and I often brought my younger sister along since she enjoyed spending time with them. Their mother, a town counselor, trusted me enough to recommend me for other babysitting jobs. I take pride in being dependable, patient, and attentive, and I love creating a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for children.

What I love about being a sitter is being able to get to know the children. I love helping kids along with working with them. I have worked in daycares for about 5 years with all ages inlcluding babies. I come with lots of training along with being certified in CPR. I am a 20 year old sophmore at Indiana University studying in Sports Media.

I love babysitting for various reasons! My first sitting job was with my baby cousin and it helped me find something I love to do. Every child is different and it shows you how amazing it is to get to know them. I have baby sat my cousin, sister, and extended family! These were covid years which is why it is all family related but I have been around countless of church members children having to watch them. I’m not certified in CPR but we took multiple tests on it in my various health classes. I also understand first aid well. My graduation pathway was mostly learning first aid and child care!
