My first professional employment for child care was when I was 15. I worked in the nursery of my church with ages ranging from newborn to 2 years of age. Lead teachers were responsible for teaching the daily lesson, playtime, snack time. I loved watching the children learning and interacting with each other. I have always been a teacher by nature. When I entered college naturally Childhood education became my major. At 24 I decided to go into business for myself. I provided in home health care for an elderly couple. Daily task required meal preparation specific to dietary needs of my clients: House work, distribution of medication, bathing, physical therapy, and transportation were requirements to make sure they received the best care possible. It’s always difficult to lose those clients you become close to. So when the Koelzer’s needs required medical attention I could not deliver we parted ways Read more and they entered a nursing home facility. When they passed away, my heart was heavy. I became a part of their family in just a short period of time it was like I lost my grandparents all over again. I have always had a big heart. It’s one of my greatest strengths and weaknesses.
