Hello. My name is Sharmaine and I'm a certified nurse assistant who had been taking care of patients in a hospital setting for almost three years now.I started from CoxHealth in Springfield, and was employed by Truman Medical Center and KU Med when I moved here. I then eventually worked for Children's Mercy Hospital. I have had years of experience taking care of people of all ages. I am also CPR certified. I also have 12 years of babysitting experience - I was the oldest and I have four siblings, and I had taken care of them until when I moved out of my family's home two years ago. We have never gotten a baby sitter, and both my parents worked full-time (we were in the Philippines until 2013, and was living with some other relatives). I always try to think of ways to engage kids in both physical and mentally stimulating activities, and I also am good at building rapport with both the children and their parents. There's nothing more rewarding than coming to work in a home where both the children and parents are happy to see me. We also have had dogs our whole lives, and I currently have two dogs. I love all kinds of animals so I don't mind working with pets. During the fall semester, I will be attending classes and doing an internship, so my availability will be limited to 6pm onwards during the weekdays, and I will be free during the entire weekend.
