Hi! My name is Julia and I would love to babysit for you and your family specifically in the summertime. During the school year, I am a graduate student at the Art Institute of Chicago, studying to get my Masters in Art Therapy. I love being a sitter because I appreciate the creativity and resilience of children. When working with kids, I love to incorporate art making and other creative outlets into my babysitting. I do not think creativity needs to mean art making necessarily, but I hope to imbed what I have learned in my masters program about flexibility and creativity into my work with children. I am also well versed in play therapy, and the wide ranging benefits it can have on children of all ages.Because play therapy allows children to express themselves in a new way, parents and other adults can benefit from learning about their child’s Read more thoughts and emotions. I hope through babysitting I can provide information and experience in this regard to strengthen relationships. Embedded in play therapy is often an understanding of rules and expectations- which is undeniably important for babysitting, but allows them to be implemented in a more playful way than might be the case in school or other traditional child care settings. Because of my training in trauma-informed care, and my flexibility, I make a fun, dedicated, and supportive babysitter! I look forward to hearing more from you and your family.
